I am testing the trial version of VS11, and has found out that
when you create a video file using "Same as First Video Clip" or
"Same as Project Settings" VS11 starts rendering. This was not
the case with VS10, as it was a very fast stream copy.
Video Studio 11 Rendering

I checked my version of VS11+ trial using both "Save As Project Settings" & Save as first clip.
Trimmed down & exported a HDV 3.6G file very fast, worked very well.
When I used "Save As first Clip" I purposely set the "Project Settings" NOT to equal my source videos. It worked.
I even started a new project, inserted a HDV mpeg2 @25000kbs into the timeline. Did NOT convert the project settings so they were the defaults. Then "Share -> Same As First Video Clip", rendered very fast with the same HDV specs.
