...with this software. I mean, isn't burning to DVD an important part of MF6+ ?
Just curious.... Since whenever I try to install it, my DVD player ceases to function in xp entirely (ie. doesn't work AT ALL).
Under device manager, the problem narative I get is, "Windows cannot initialize the device driver for this hardware. (Code 37)"
I've seen the other post on this forum regarding this issue, and I have tried most of the proposed solutions.
Simply put, this program renders my DVD inoperable when it is installed. It takes a restore point rollback for me to get by DVD player working again.
Now, this produce LOOKS like a great program, but ya know, for $70, I'd kinda like to use it, not just look at it and read the manual over and over.
Has someone found any way of making this product work without compromising the use of your internal DVD player?
And if there is no solution, anyone have any luck returning opened software back to the store?
Thanks, and sorry for the frustration... But this was an expensive purchase for me.
You'd think I'd be able to use my DVD player

I know this is frustrating. MF6+ does install a driver and if the driver conflicts with another driver this is what seems to occur.
I would look for any other dvd burning software you have on the computer that's also loading a special driver, Roxio "Drag 2 Disk", Nero InCD, other special applications or packet writing software.

Thank you for your advice. I have two other "burner" type software on the computer. I deleted them both and then installed MF8+ with the same results --DVD player not working.
I'm thinking that simply deleting the "burner" software does not delete the drivers that need to be deleted.
I have the ever popular Cyberlink DVD Solution suite that came with the computer and DVD Cloner IV installed.
Is there a way to single out the drivers on my system and manually delete them to try this tricky installation again?
Many thanks!

I did my best to uninstall both of those programs prior to a fresh install of MF6+.
Problem persists. I'm thinking that a driver(s) is not deleted upon the un-install...
I put in a ticket with customer support... crossing fingers for a reply. Its really weird, tho. I KNOW most new computers, at least Gateways, have Cyberlink DVD programs as part of the software package. So, if no on is blowing up the message boards about it, it may be the DVD Cloner software...
I hate re-installing everything... again...
=(

Did you un-install the dvd cloner software or not?So, if no on is blowing up the message boards about it, it may be the DVD Cloner software...
I don't understand, you either un-installed ALL the dvd software or you didn't.
These shouldn't leave drivers behind unless an un-install fails to complete.
Sorry, your post sounds like you didn't un-install all the software. Sounds like your un-installing one program, then trying MF6 again and all.
PowerDVD Player has never been known to conflict. As far as I know it uses the windows drivers to access the optical drives. Has never given me any problems similar to yours.
This is hard, every computer system is different and has different quirks.
