Title says it all really. I click on the icon and there's nothing more I can do but kill off the program.
Any ideas?

Same problem here.
1. Sony HDR-UX1 AVCHD camcorder.
2. DVD+RW disc and DVD drive.
3. VideoStudio 11 Plus.
The "IMPORT FROM DVD/DVD-VR" capture plug-in appears to fail in its attempt to convert raw AVCHD transport stream video to be "program stream" MPEG video/audio that can be read by Ulead VideoStudio 11 Plus.
I get an "unspecified error" message.
Fresh, clean installation of Microsoft Windows XP Home, too.
Ulead needs to get a patch to us.

Well, I tried copying the files on the DVD+RW disc onto my hard drive.TSG wrote:Update: A litte success!
I;m using Vista and it looks like you have to run VS11 as administrator in order to be able to access the DVD drives..
Slightly annoying as I dfon't even WANT to access the drives at all... I want to browse to a folder on my hard drive with AVCHD files in it......
Then I attempted to use the "IMPORT FROM DVD/DVD-VR" capture plug-in in Ulead VideoStudio 11 to import the AVCHD transport stream files on the hard disk.
That results in the same error message here.

One idea I haven't tried:
The Sony HDR-UX1 AVCHD camcorder manual suggests that my DVD+RW disc needs to be "finalized."
That step I forgot.
I'm used to using DVD-RAM, which doesn't require finalization.
When I get home, I'll try the finalization procedure and see if that makes a difference for VideoStudio 11 Plus's "IMPORT FROM DVD/DVD-VR" capture plug-in.

Finalization did not result in any improvement.
Same error message.
The "IMPORT FROM DVD/DVD-VR" capture plug-in seems to be broken.
