Sorry .VISTA again.

Post by m rixon »

I have read all the links to MSP8 and Vista and I understand fully Ulead,' position that they created a programme to work on XP and that there is no financial reason why they should create a patch to make MSP8 work in Vista.
However my wife kindly bought me a new computer as a suprise birthday present as my old one had died.Guess what operating system the new compter has installed. Now I don't have the heart to tell her that I can no longer use my favorite video editing programme so why doesn't Ulead create a patch and charge us fot it if they cannot do it for free?
The alternative? Adobe Premiere elements.
By the way Vista is great.

I had the same problem so I have a dual boot system now.

I agree that vista is good and going to be a force to a reckoned with. Video and music play so much better even the colours look richer and I like the facility of seeing your video preview files in explorer, it also seems a lot faster and certainly better multitasking and file searching like on the Mac.

God those Mac's are good!

One worth waiting for if Ulead don¡¦t do anything with Vista is Sony Vegas been realised as a 64bit version to work on Vista.

Before you jump to Premiere Elements, take a look at VideoStudio 11. Fully Vista-fied and, IMHO, nicer to use than PremEl.

Note especially that there is NO SmartSounds/AutoMusic in PremEl. You can download a free plug-in, but the result is not integrated - you can't drag the end of the music clip back and forth and get an automatically adjusted tune.

Note also that the keyframe editor in PremEl is a major pain to use.

(Pity abt MSP8 and Vista, by the way. I'm in a similar boat to you...)

I had an earlier version of Video studio but it just did not compare to all the extra Pro. type features in MSP8.

Later versions have closed the gap between MSP and VS. Why not download the trial?

Good luck.
