Cannot reinstsall downloaded upgrade

Following a HD crash I tried to reinstall VS10 using the exe file I downloaded when I upgraded from VS 8.0 SE. I get an error telling me to install ther ESD version first, however the version I am attempting to load is the ESD version.

I reinstalled the VS 8.0 SE And I still get the same error message. I logged a support issue 2 weeks ago and got no response.

As a test i tried to install a patch for VS 8.0 and I get an error message that the ULEAD installer cannot find VS 8.0 on my computer. However it is installed , registered and working. How borken is this product and how poo r is their tech support?

Has anyone got any suggestion apart from legal action to recover the payment I made to ULEAD?
