Installation Proceedure

Post by Kiwi Bob »

I upgraded from 10+ to 11+ via download and not wishing to retain the older version I followed the instalation proceedure in their attached 'read-me' file.

ie ... I left 10+ installed then installed 11+ then uninstalled 10+ then went to the control panel's 'Add or Remove Program' to use the 11+ repair option but it was not there. I then had to muck around and uninstall 11+ and reinstall it again.

I had the same problem when I had upgraded to 10+ early this year. Is there a reason why there is no repair option when installing from download or is this a case of faulty instructions in the read me file being repeated.

I am running Windows XP

Thanks in advance.

My experience has been that the repair option is only available if you have installed from the full boxed version i.e. with a CD, rather than from the download version.

I have the download version of VS11 but have not (thankfully) had to reinstall or try to repair that as yet. Have the electronic download copy, but don't know yet if you can repair or only reinstall it like previous versions...
