Pan & Zoom not always available?

Post by Peta »

I have been going extremely well with VS 10+ and am in the middle of a big project (450 photographs in 4 x 10 mins Chapters for a client). All the photographs were scanned at 200 dpi in TIF format - enhanced, cropped etc and inserted in the timeline. Every photograph was treated the same, is apporx the same dimensions and is up for 6 secs. Crossfade is used as the transition on all photos.

In the middle of adding pan&zoom to the photos, VS has suddenly started to not permit Pan & Zoom on the occasional photograph. When that happens the opportunity for color correction is also 'not available'. I have looked carefully at each photo (about 1 in every 10) it 'rejects' but can see no difference between it and the previous and following photos.

Any suggestions as to why this might be happening?

In advance........thanks

I thought VS only allowed JPEG or BITMAP images?

@Peta,

Did you use the Movie Wizard to create your slideshow, or just the Editor and build it manually?

Hi Ron

I always do it manually - I would undertsand if it applied to ALL TIFFs but it is only some, so I thought maybe those have layers - I did a heap of enhancements in PS - but those it 'rejected' do not have layers, and some that do it is working quite normally with. I cannot see anything different between the photo before and the photo after the one VS declined to offer Pan & Zoom on.

Ah, I was confusing that with the Capture As Still Image options. :oops:

Just to close this thread - pan and zoom cannot be applied to masked images. Therefore in the enhancement process I must have unwittingly applied a mask - probably sharpen mask.

That seems to be the answer.
