OK, I've downloaded VideoStudio 11 and imported a couple AVCHD video clips to the timeline and added some transitions.
What is the next step?
How do I view this beautiful hi-def video on a Samsung BD-P1000? Do I need to buy a Blu-Ray burner, or is there a way to burn the high-def format (BDMV?) to a standard DVD-R?
I only have a few minutes of video and probably won't need the 25 gig capacity of a blu-ray disc.
Thanks for all your help.

Well, if you're wanting to burn a Blu-ray Disc, you should be aware the state of Blu-ray Disc authoring is a bit sketchy at this point in history.
There are two kinds of Blu-ray Discs:
1. No menus (BDAV)
2. With menus (BDMV)
Some early Blu-ray Disc players are notorious for supporting only one or the other.

At this point, "HD DVD" is the easiest for consumers.
Ulead's new DVD MovieFactory program can handle Blu-ray Discs with no menus.
