Hi, good to find your company!
I installed the upgrade to DVDWS 2 yesterday - with mixed results.
Expected it to install over my existing v 1.3, apparently it did not.
Dowloaded the latest patch to 2.231 later in the day: resulting in the appearance of the MPEG vio driver not loaded error.
Installed the patch, which I had earlier aplied to 1.3, and it got rid of the error msg...
Several crashes later (the new version of DVDWS somehow defaults to "ATI RAGE THEATER" or similar in the Capture step, which causes WinXP SP2 to spit the dummy each time...)
After restarting DVDWS repeatedly, I get the hang of catching the "ATI Rage" bit in time, and am able to select a second choice: "Fusion HDTV, WMF decoder" or similar. (I have DVICO's Fusion digital TV tuner PCI card in the system, software version 2.7xx)
In the Capture Controls area, I cannot set DVDWS to my country= Australia. Nor can I get anything on Channel 9, which is my digital channel for our 'ethnic' broadcaster, SBS...
If I hit capture, I'm eventually told that the capture files is corrput and do I want to continue? No!
If I capture MPG from the Fusion card to file and then import into DVDWS, I get video but no audio...
And so on, and so forth.
And of course the registration site is down, the tech support site is offline and I'm left wondering if Ulead intends to stay in this market...
Ah well, I'll probably work everything out eventually, as I usually do...
But in the meantime, any light anyone might be able to shed on any of these issues is greatly welcomed!
Cheers,
L.M.H.
NB: My system is an Abit AV8 3rd Eye m/b, Athlon 64 3200+ CPU, 1 GB GeIL dual-channel DDR running WinXP SP2 with all the current updates.
The Antec Sonata box with 380 W PSU also contains a Canopus DVD-Raptor RT capture card with v.3 of the driver software, Adobe 6.1, and a Canopus AVDC-100 lets me import my old Hi-8 clips.
hit&miss affair with WS2...

missing audio fixed...
Thanks to the excellent tutorial from Jones Media referred to by another user, I discovered the crucial 'template-matching' technique:
as a result, the audio in the captured .mpg file from digital tv now works.
One down, tons to go!
