I am facing the same symptoms as shookiejones in their post "jittery video and audio capture" (last on May 12). When I try to capture video, it goes ok for about 10 seconds and the audio then starts "blipping" and the video goes to that "venetian blinds" effect.
The solution was to change the video format from MPEG to DV in the Capture section. Unfortunately, MPEG is the only format I have in the menu. Is there any other way to change that setting?
Also, if I try to do a Quick Scan, the "Quick Scan" window comes up but just looks dark. There's nothing I can do or change. If I press "Next" it just says to Scan before continuing. The only thing I can do is close that window. This tells me that it may not be picking up my camera correctly but in the Capture section, it correctly reads "Canon - HDV" so I'm a bit confused.
Again it's a Canon HV20 connected with a Firewire cable and I'm using Video Studio 10 Plus. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

If you are capturing high definition video, have you loaded the Ulead VideoStudio 10 Plus Canon HV10 Support Pack? I understand it works for the HV20 also. Here is a link, scroll down a little to download.
