VideoStudio11 - AVCHD

Post by BradyB »

Being an HD-SR1 owner, I was excited to download the trial version of VideoStudio 11. From this forum, I learned how to load the video files directly from the camera into VideoStudio: Thanks!

I now have loaded the files loaded into a project, have placed them on the video track and have added transitions.

When I play the project back, it stutters terribly. Any idea what could cause this? I enabled Smart Proxy and am running on an HP computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 1.86 GHz. CPU(s) usage hovers around 60 - 70 %

Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I think I figured it out.

First, you need to set the Project Properties to 1440 x 1080 and then insert the video clips into the video track.

The program then builds the Smart Proxy files. Seems to play OK now.

Brady,

That worked for me too. Smartproxy creates .avi files which computers have a much easier time with than the AVCHD footage. However, note that in other threads, it was suggested that wec onvert the AVCHD footage to HD Mpeg. I haven't tried it out yet, but it may the way to go.
