Hi all -
I just installed PI11 on a Vista laptop (I'm also running it on my XP desktop). Runs fine on Vista except I notice that when I choose "Save As", the "Options" button isn't present (nor is the "Invoke Options" checkbox) so I can't choose the quality of my .jpegs. I'm not really worried about any of the other "save as" options but I would like to be able to set the compression level (quality) of my .jpegs. Any ideas how to do this?
(Nothing in the preferences "Open & Save" tab helps either.)

PI 11 had this problem previously on XP machines. I don't know about Vista and won't touch it with a 10 foot pole until all my current software is certified to run on it but maybe, just maybe, this old fix will work in your case also.
Even though this user made a connection to TweakUI, other users reported this fix to work even though they had not installed TweakUI.This fix was provided by a user. Apparently, you'll get this problem if you installed Microsoft's Tweak UI program and set the "Remember previously-used filenames" option from the "Common Dialogs". To fix this, please take note of the outlined procedure to edit a particular registry value:
1. Click "Start -> Run", type "regedit" on the command box then click "Ok" to open the Registry Editor.
2. Go to:
"HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\comdlg32\NoFileMru"
3. Change the DWORD value from "1" to "0".
4. Close the Registry Editor, restart PhotoImpact and you should be good to go.

Thanks - but that registry key/value doesn't exist on my Vista machine....heinz-oz wrote:PI 11 had this problem previously on XP machines. Is there a way within PI to set the jpeg compression level independent of the save as dialogue box?
