DMF6 - Fading text - no control ?

Post by FFMan »

When using the new edit room feature in DMF6 and adding text, there appears to be a fixed formula for fading the text in and out. The formula appears to use the first third of the duration to fade in the text, and the last third to fade it out.

This may be great when the duration is short, but is complete nonsense when you have text on the screen for 2 minutes, and you want the text to appear exactly at the time something happens on the video.

Can this behaviour be modified so that text appears instantly ?

I like DMF6, new features are useful, but is this a case of two steps forward, one step back ? It will be if i can't control the text like I could in DMF5.

thanks

fading text - theme driven

Post by FFMan »

I saw a post in the forum here which got me trying stuff.

It would seem the fading text comes in with the theme I am using. If i start a new project and don't use a theme the text doesn't fade in and out, however if a theme (the general one in my case) is used any where in the project the fading text applies - it seems as if this setting is carried forward from the edit room from one video clip to next, regardless of whether you are using a theme on the particular clip.

i have a work around i guess - don't use themes but that seems a shame really - any other answers ? Can the general theme be modified not to fade text ?
