Failed to build preview graph

I had VS 8 and used no problems, I now have changed my PC to a Lenovo Duo Core 2Gb Ram, 240GB HHD it has Vista Business and I have loaded VS 10 plus & updated with vista patch from website.
When I go to download my Video footage from my Sony Handycam it doesn't doesn't show any video in preview pane then shows to "Failed to build preview graph" message. The device manager shows the Handycam is working.... since owning Vista it has been hard work doing anything new

Can anyone help me pls ?

Well disappointed no one came to my rescue. I thought someone might have had an idea or solution. I should have known (from my last problems as a novice installing VS7) and anyone else who comes across this problem with Vista it seems it is all about drivers & updates and after pouring of multiple website forums it became clear that I needed to reinstall & update any drivers and software remotely relavent to my problem...no sure what I did but I seems to have self fixed the problem. Case closed

What I did
1/ Updated my DirectX Video Capture card driver
2/ Removed and reinstalled ULead VS 10 plus
3/ Downloaded Ulead Vista patch & SP1

Tracker..on rare occasions I get the same error message. I use UVS10plus.
I just shut off the camcorder and turn it on again..and the error message disappears when I start the capture process. Hope this helps
