All Ulead Products are Crashing!

Post by billthe4th »

Folks,

Shame on me. For weeks, I've been working on a complex video project for my kid's school - due Monday - 1 hour 15 minute video.

I have Pro 7, and Factory 2. When rendering (create Video - mpeg) for DVD, sometime into the render, the program crashes (...encountered a problem, must close"). I tried re-creating in in Factory 2 - same problem.

THEN - I downloaded the trial versions of Pro 8 and Factory 6 - exact same problem. I'm using XP Pro/AMD Dual Core/2 gig Mem.

Thanks in advance for any possible help! (there goes my weekend).

Do NOT try to do anything in MSP8, keep to MSP7. A DVP(7) file is not necessarily valid in MSP8.

Crashing during burning is most often due to a faulty video file. For example, a single frame missing will do it. The first thing to do is to check for empty spaces and eliminate them. Then create an AVI file of your project and use that in your authoring app of choice.

I would like to add to Devil's post. Not only could your MSP 7 file cause a problem in MS 8, although it shouldn't, but, whatever you do in MSP8 cannot be continued in MSP7. Like all programs, you can open an older versions files in the newer version but not the other way around. Unless you intend to buy MSP 8 and DVD MF6, do nothing with these programs that you can't finish while the trials are still working.

I agree with Devil, your problem, in all probability, is due to a corrupted video file inside your project.
