Video tutorials do not play on quicktime

I downloaded several totorials and they do not play in Quicktime. There is only a white screen. I may need a codec but not sure which one.

Advise please

What tutorials have you downloaded - what is the file extension for them ??

If they don't play in Quicktime why not try something else , Have you tried playing them in Windows Media Player - or Ulead VideoStudio ???
