I suspect that Nero's DLA component has the drive locked and is preventing UVS from writing to it.

My suggestion would be to have UVS output to an ISO file instead of burning directly to disk, and then using Nero to burn the ISO image to a blank disk.

DLA is Drive Letter Access, which allows you to treat CD and DVD media like a big floppy disk.

I'm talking about an ISO image of the disk -- you can select that on the final screen of the "Create Disk" wizard. This format is supported by both UVS and Nero.

Further to Torsten's comment about DLA, if you have installed Nero's InCD along with the general Nero suite, you might want to uninstall InCD and the see what happens. The only time I had trouble with buring DVDs was after I installed InCD as it appeared to clash with the 'native' DLA installed as part of Windows XP Professional. Once I uninstalled InCD, the problem disappeared.

Thanks Ken, I couldn't remember what Nero's DLA component is called, I don't like this particular software suite -- I had some bad experiences some years ago, and never quite warmed up to it again.

http://www.ulead.com/tech/vs/vs.htm and look for General Updates.

Also you might need to go to http://www.liteonit.com.tw/ODD/English/ ... _cd-rw.asp for updated firmware of the CD-RW writer. But it might have risk to update the firmware so you should find some computer expert to do it for you.

Hope this helps.
