Regarding my immediate previous posting seeking help with multi trimming I was succesfull the 5th time.
I now wish to insert text using'colour' screen with some information.
I did this by dragging the 'colour' clip between 2 clips but when tested the text appears written over the ensuing clip. Please advise how to overcome this situation.
Thank you

It sounds as though you have applied some sort of animation to your title, such as a fly in and out or a scroll from bottom to top but could you confirm that please?
And of course, if you are wanting to do it against a colour matte background, then the latter has to have the same duration as the title with the animation. In timeline view, you should be able to see the title in the overlay/title track. The colour matte you insert in between the clips in the main track merely has to be extended so that it matches the end of the title clip. Just highlight the colour clip and change the duration with the clock or if you can, simply click on the heavy yellow bar at the right end of the highlighted colour matte and drag it to the right so that it now matches where the title ends.
Make sure you have ripple editing enabled.

Well if you didn't apply an animation, you only have to make sure the title overlay stays exactly in line with the colour patch in the main track.
As for ripple editing, again in timeline view, it is to the immediate left of the top track. Hover your mouse over the little icon and it will show Ripple Editing. You click it on and off. When it is on -- and you have to enable it for each track -- everything to the right of the insertion point will move to the right.
