I bought this about a month ago and I've had nothing but problems. The latest is I keep getting a trial codec problem so I uninstalled and then reinstalled but now it says its a trial version and I have to activate it. So I click on the link and I go to a purchase then it says its unavailable:( It's not the trial version as I bought it and it came with a disk.
When I now click capture the noise from the audio is unbearable and the video is jerky.
Can anyone help. I'm so annoyed with this daft programme it's driven me crazy with one problem after another.
I'm trying to copy my home made vhs tapes to my pc.
xp pro service pack 2
pal video
tapes fine.
I dont know about anything else.

Is this what you purchased?
Ads Tech Video Xpress
If so then according to the website included is a Trial Version of Video Studio.
Generally with hardware devices they will include an SE version, which is not an expiring trial version. SE is a simplified, or watered down version, that does not have all the features of a full version. They are also tweaked by the hardware manufacturer to work with their hardware.

Now the problem is that VS9 is no longer available, as the current release is VS11. If you purchased it "about a month ago", then your 30 day Trial has probably expired.Includes:
Video Xpress device
6 ft. RCA A/V cable
CD containing:
Video Xpress hardware drivers
Ulead Movie Wizard
Muvee AutoProducer
PhotoShow light
30 day trial - Ulead Video Studio

But it still won't let me activate it and so it's not working:(vidoman wrote:Catgil,
This is mistaken by several people. The software is included free with the hardware that you purchased .
Also everytime I click capture the noise is awful and I have to stop it. All I wanted to do is to transfer some video onto my pc. I thought it was going to be simple according to the box!

Can you be more specific on this? Is it saying you are missing a required codec, or maybe even names the codec ?I keep getting a trial codec problem
I just read some more specs on your ADS Tech device. You apparently are not able to create/burn DVDs, only to CDs. You are not able to create MPEG-2 video file format, which is needed for DVD. So with that, are you wanting to just edit/create video to share on the internet, or view only on your PC? If you are wanting to create/burn DVDs to be viewed on your TV, then the software included with this device is not capable of that.

Thanks for your reply. The trialcodec thing went away after I reinstalled.
I did want to put videos onto dvd's. I had managed to put some videos onto my pc the quality of which was just ok. But I cant even do that now. I haven't even attempted to put anything onto dvd yet. I did explain to the guy in the shop that this was what I wanted to do.
Can you suggest some proper software that I can buy and use instead of Video xpress then, if it's not up to the job.
Reading the box though it looked so easy!!!
