I have always bought the "boxed" upgrades because -- well, just because I like having a separate CD and a hard-copy manual and avoiding some of the d/l version issues. So looking at Ulead's site, I can handle the $59.99 upgrade price, but the only shipping option is UPS Priority Mail, for which they want $14 and change!
That's really not acceptable. I am in no hurry for it and wouldn't care if it took a couple of weeks, so UPS Ground or standard USPS would be fine with me. I can't believe that they're not making a profit off of this fee, which I thought you're not supposed to do.

I too prefer a cd and book and felt ripped off when I ordered PI 12 from them. The reason the cost was high for me was that the software was shipped from Germany for some reason despite buying it in the UK web store. To make matters worse I have been to the Ulead store, and they say that they are now going to be the sole providers of upgrades for VS 11. Amazon used to provide them at the same price or lower, and sometimes the shipping was free.

To say that I am not happy about it would be an understatment. After using VS and PI both since version 4, I'm seriously considering ditching them in the future and using something else instead. If this is what a takeover does for customer choice it sucks. I felt the same way when Adobe took over Macromedia, their UK pricing in general is at least twice the amount of that in the US. I've not upgraded Flash since.
