Hey DLA,

your figures are a bit alarming! It would appear that VS11 is not implementing X2 dual core support very well.

I may load the TBYB version onto my 1.83 C2d laptop to compare it with my old P4 2.8c desktop.

I do know that DVD Shrink will run both cores of the laptop at 100% - and it will shrink a DVD in just under half the time taken by the Pentium 2.8 - which also shows both threads running at 100%.

It would be a great shame (and unforgivable, to be honest) if VS wasn't written in such a way as to properly implement dual core support. Might be enough to turn some to NeroVsion...

Some news on the topic. The rendering times I gave for the X2 and the single core were for DVD MPEG2 file. If I create the file in WMV, I see both cores close to 100%.
