Color Management feature

Color Management feature? I can't select any monitor profile (the drop down window is titled "Monitor Profile: 4 Default Monitor") The only profile available is <none>

I have a Veiwsonic VP 2130b seris monitor driver install in device manager, but can not find a monitor profile, How & where would I find one and where would I have to install it to, as there no file or menu item in PhotImpact 12 under preference that I can find.
Is there a text file (ini of inf file) that I can edit to get this working?

You would have to get one from the manufacturer of your monitor or make your own.

I have bought a Spider2 device which creates monitor profiles by being attached to the screen while going through its motions of displaying different color patterns. Comparing the actual color with the nominal allows it to calibrate your monitor. These things are not cheap.

You can find out more about it here http://www.normankoren.com/makingfineprints1A.html

Thanks Heinz,

I will follow that up, by the way Heinz I have been having success with the object file by using a scan file saving it as a TIFF file, I figued that best to use a format that has the most info stored in it, I still have a lot to learn, but getting there, so thanks for your help, its much appreciated.

Do you know of any hard copy books that are well advanced that have info on digital editoring or a good book that the author uses PhotoImpact as a platform.

I know that there is the manual and Ulead resourse center, but I like a book that I can read while not at the computer, and these sort of tutorials usually get to the point quickly saving heaps of time, plus has all the technical jargon that I like to get into

Hi Rob,
Sorry, I don't know of any book like that. Since you mentioned scanning, have a read of this link http://scantips.com/no72dpi.html as well. It will help you to get better results when scanning.

It doesn't matter much to which format you save an object to, as long as it doesn't further compress it. While working with objects I use the Ulead native format ufo at no compression. Once done I chose a file format suitable for what I want to do but I keep the ufo file for future use.
