Is there any way to add effects to the text you input over video in the Edit Room? All I really want to do is fade my text in and out at teh beginning of my video. I notice the Add/Change Effect on the last tab, but that button doesn't seem to be highlighted to where I can use it. Any help would be appreciated.
Text effects in the edit room
You can't apply a fade to your own text. But ...
In the Edit Room select one of the themes that has fading text. This becomes your first clip - but we'll be changing it. After accepting the theme, change from storyboard to timeline mode - click on the film-strip icon. By right clicking in the timeline you can delete the sound and theme's clip's etc. Replace them with our own clip. You can also select them individually for deletion / dragging / stretching their duration / etc.
Select the text and overwrite it as desired. Finally, position, enlarge, and change the text format on the screen as required too. Your text will now fade-in and eventually also fade-out !
Unfortunately you can't copy the text or save them as your own themes
. So, for more fading text you'll have to choose a theme with lots of dragable text ? Else, save the last part of the above procedure as a "template project" to create separate small movies, and then combine them in a final project
