16389 error

Post by jonsummers »

I'm also getting the 16389 error but for a different reason so I'll keep an eye on any replies that you get. This is happening to me in a brand new copy of MF4 and the error kicks in just as the the programme is about to do the final burn stage of a project. Most infuriating!! Did you see the other messages relating to the 16389 error? There have been several since Jan 05 with no one coming up with a fix so far.
Best of luck.......................... Jon

The only way I got around this was to uninstall it, manually clean the registry of ALL references to Ulead or ULX... and there were LOTS AND LOTS of them... then defrag & reinstall. Then it worked fine with a DVD-R.

Back up registry first, your mileage may vary.

I did the below before I though to check & see if it was actually a media problem, as it happened first time I tried to use it - and I had been using it with a DVD-RW.
I haven't tried it since with a -RW.

Good luck!
