Can PictureShow caption display filename but not filetype?

Post by Charlie Howard »

Is there a way to make PictureShow display just the filenames but not the ".JPG" filetypes as captions on the slideshow images?

My slideshows display overlay captions for each image. The on-screen captions are the "File name" (using the Theme | Slideshow | Text and Background menu). However, that option also displays the filetype (".JPG"), which makes the slideshow seem less professional than it could be.

The only way I've found to show just the filename is to use the "Description" field for each image, instead of the "file name" option. Since there are about 400 slides in one slideshow, that would be a lot of work.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions you may have.

I went so far as to suggest this option to ULEAD as a product enhancement well over a year ago but never heard back from them on its feasibility. I just upgraded to V4 and see it wasn't made an option. I have over 4,000 photos that I want to make into various slideshows and the idea of manually typing in a description for each one photo just isn't an option. I've made the photo file descriptions such that they're self explanatory. Having the file extension appear at the end of the file name really ruins using the option of showing the file name in lieu of a description.

I see from your post that you never received a response back, I'm guessing that we're out of luck.
