I'm using the VS11+ trial download on my PC. I've created a project with a one-hour mpeg file (a training video), an image using the company logo, and a title that scrolls. Here are the issues/problems/questions, and the results are the same even if I use the sample video of the lady with the laptop that is included with the trial version, so that's the one I'll use here.
1. Create Disk... the lady with the laptop appears, but NEVER in the large screen allowing me to jog through it. The controls are all greyed out.
2. Add/Edit Chapter takes me to the next screen, but I'm only alllowed to auto/add chapter, which I don't want. I really want to choose the chapter locations myself. The Add Chapter is always greyed out. This has never worked in 11+ for me, but did work in the earlier versions I used (8 and 10). Chapters that are added on the main screen do appear, and I have the option of removing them, but again, I'm never allowed to add more.
3. Adding chapters on the main screen does work, but I simply can't figure out how to view each frame of the video on the timeline, like it's shown in the user manual, e.g. p 29.
4. Then going to the menu creation, I'm presented with a very limited gallery of menus, each less suitable for a business situation than the next. I settled for the one with all the black blocks on it. And I can only put 4 chapters on a page... there's plenty of room for more. Earlier versions of VS had at least a few more menus to choose from. Is there a way to add text boxes beyond what is in the title?
5. Creating the DVD does work, but it will only play on the Ulead DVD player; my Windows Media Player crashes. Is there a setting I need to change?
Thanks for help in any of these areas.

I'm not positive, as I don't have v11 on this machine, but all your problems could be the result of the limitations of the trial version.
