I've got a similar situation/problem...
I purchased WIN DVD 7 Platinum in 2006.
My MCE 2005 software was corrupted by a automatic update.
My inept attempts to "fix" things resulted in having to do a clean install.
How can I find a new download of DVD 7?
I have the new activation key, etc, but can't find the software to re-download.
I'm currently running on a trial edition of DVD 8... ...will my activation key perhaps work with the DVD 8 software?
I've only got a few days left on the trial; I'd prefer, if possible to continue with the software I've already paid for rather than have to re-purchase something else.
Any help or input would be appreciated... ...Thanks

On the intervideo website, log into your member account and click on the Support link, which is just under the Update Account link. Under Product Support click on Knowledge Base and click on the subcategory WinDVD. Then click on the subcategory Version 7 and find the link Installation: Redownload WinDVD 7 installer which is in the middle.
You can then download it from here:
http://webdownload2.intervideo.com/wind ... inDVD7.exe

Wow!
...an actual response!
Thanks.
After this much time, I'd totally given up on anything to do with InterVideo and their non-existant "Customer Service"
I've been trying for nearly two years to get some kind of response or contact someone, anyone there who gave a damn.
I'm thankful and hopeful that the takeover has a positive effect.
Hooray for Ulead!

Thanks again, Jedi...
...following your instructions, the download and installation went almost seamlessly. One minor glitch with the registration/activation (some kind of server error?), but the second attempt was successful.
A couple of other questions if I may:
1) Has this info/procedure always been available on the site, or is it a new addition? I previously had spent many hours searching the website and "support" for something similar without success; and had sent uncounted e-mails and support requests requesting assistance... ...all were "bounced" as undeliverable or ignored/unread by InterVideo.
Was it there all along and I just somehow missed it?
2) Is there any way to check for and download updates or fixes for the software (DVD 7)? (I still haven't installed as the "preferred" decoder in MCE 2005, since I'm still working on a competitor's trial that I was only days away from purchasing).
During my original use of DVD 7 (my original purchase and installation was fall of 2005), I experienced constant and regular freezeups during recorded program playback. "Report this problem to Microsoft" always returned a message to the effect that "the problem is with Win DVD 7; Intervideo is aware of the problem; please contact Intervideo for resolution..."
Of course, it was impossible to "contact Intervideo"...
I'm wondering if this glitch has been fixed in the latest download, or if perhaps there's a update or fix available?
I hope this is the proper place to ask these questions; it's so refreshing to finally get a response

I don't know the answers to those questions because I'm not a employee of Intervideo, I'm just a customer like yourself. I came looking on these forums for a downloadable link for WinDVD 7 and found this topic. I continued searching and I was fortunate enough to come across what I was looking for. I then spent about four minutes registering and posting what I found - I hate it when people come across a solution and then just close the browser without helping others.
Intervideo should of really put the link in a more suitable place though. Not everyone wants to have WinDVD 8 or upgrade to it.

Thank you Jedi-Learner! I've searched about an hour for version 7 of WinDvD I purchased last summer. My computer crashed with everywith I had on it. Then I wanted to reinstall the 7 version...
Hmm okay Intervideo Site... Version 8. Version 7? Nope. Okay, I've searched google...
Version 8 here, Version 8 there...
The search ended! Thank you again.
