V11 instalation

I have just downloaded and installed VS ver 11. After rebooting my screen had reverted to the lowest resolution with 4 bit colour . It looks like I am in safe mode and nothing will let me change it. I had to do a system restore to get my machine back. What has happened

I have solved the problem. I downloaded a new set of drivers for the video card and re installed vs 11. It now works!
