Hi team,

I am ready to burn my project. I have all my project settings matching and have burnt out a test copy previously without a menu successfully. I have now created a menu and all of a sudden I am having trouble burning. In the burn step it wants to start converting my menu and I am aware that nothing should be being converted at this point. I have pre rendered my menu. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Your menu still has to become part of your DVD. Let it render.

Hi Heinz,

I was letting it do that but shortly thereafter it strikes a problem and wants to close like it can't handle it that's why I thought I might have some settings out but then I did the same things without the menu and I can burn the project fine.

If you added buttons to your menu, then it has to re-render to include the button (text and/or thumbnails).

Also, check if you have "transitions" turned on (going into and out from your menu). Those can take a while to encode -- so you might want to turn them off until you get the hang of things...

George

I don't mind how long things take to render and I appreciate what is taking place there but it is the fact that there is an error while doing this step that makes VS want to close that is the problem.

Try using a different menu template in case the one you are using has a fault.

If it persists, then try creating a new smaller DVD on your hard drive using just the sample videos that came with VideoStudio.

This way we can eliminate two possible errors
1. faulty menu
2. Faulty Source files.

Next......
Even though you've told it not to convert your files, are they in DVD compatible MPEG2 format in the first place plus does everything
i.e. videos, menus and any extras you may have included, fit on the disc.
If not it will render in order to reduce the size to fit.

Ok guys I have narrowed the problem to the motion menu. I can successfully render a menu without the motion but when I add the motion tye burning process has a problem trying to build that

What are the properties of your motion menu asset (video and audio) :?:

If it does have audio, and it's MP3, try converting the audio to .wav at 48khz.

I have background audio as an mp3 but this works fine without the motion.
