Hi,
I tried to use the crop filter to remove a news bar at the bottom of a MPEG2 clip using VS 10+ and 11+
(MPEG2 7000 kbps VBR, MPEG I/II audio, 720*480 NTSC 29,97 fps, upper field first, captured from analog CATV).
The clip is about 1 hour long and the cropping zone drifts toward the bottom of the screen over time. At the end of the clip, half of the news bar is visible. The funny thing is that the picture is steady over the whole length of the clip.
What could I do to resolve this problem...
thank you very much

VS sets up their filters with a beginning and ending keyframe, so you can see how keyframes work by changing a filter's effect over a period of time. You just need to adjust that ending keyframe to the same values as your beginning keyframe.
Click on Customize Filter. Under the filter's timeline you should see a diamond at the beginning and at the end. The beginning keyframe should be red, the ending gray. Click on the ending keyframe to active it (it changes to red). Now adjust the values to match your beginning keyframe. Click on the Play button to preview it.
You can add and delete keyframes (except the beginning and ending) to create some very interesting effects.
