Help - what is ESD???

I have purchased Video Studio 11.

When I try to install it says 'Instaler can not find Ulead Video Studio 11 plus ESD on your machine. Please install ESD first'

Does anyone know what this means ?? What is it and where can I get it from?

I had to remove VS 10 due to a mcmpgdec.dll file corruption which upset 4 other multimedia programs on my PC. When I went to reinstall VS10 (because it did not have a repair function I had to remove it completely) I got the same cryptic error message with no option to browse.

The corruption tool 17 hours to detect as it affected MS Photostory and media player and Nero.

I paid my license fee but do not have access to the software. I am not happy. Please help?

ESD stands for Electronic Software Distribution and is the version you purchase when you buy the download version of VideoStudio as opposed to the Disc version.

If you downloaded are you trying to install the download files in the correct order - the error you are getting suggests that VideoStudio has not been installed but you are trying to install the Extra Content and Bonus material first. Alternatively have you installed VideoStudio on your default 'C' drive or have you put it somewhere else.

When I purchased the product, I recieved 4 emails. Below is the subject of the emails.

1, The user data you requested

2, Payment information (element 5 Order no. ********)

3, Delivery information for "Extended Download for Ulead VideoStudio 11 Plus (Full/TBYB) [********] (12 months)" (element 5 Order no. *********)

4, Download link and license key for "Ulead VideoStudio 11 Plus (Full/TBYB)" (element 5 order no. *********)

When I open email #4 The first avalible link says'2. Download the full version (Extra Contents for Ulead VideoStudio 11 Plus
- English) at'

The second links says
'3. Download the full version (Bonus for Ulead VideoStudio 11 Plus -

In Section B of email 4 it repeats information I think??

I have deleted all other files that have anything to do with Ulead.

Which one do I download first?

The Download Link I was given gave me the following files to download:

uvs11_plus_(e).exe (The Program)
uvs11_plus_contentpack_(e).exe (The Extra Content)
uvs11_bonuscd_(e).exe (The Bonus CD)

You install these in the order I have listed them.

I would send the email back to Element 5 pointing out the error and asking for the correct 3.

In my equivalent message I got the following:

That is the main program file.

Then in subsequent paras I got the references to the other two files you mentioned (Extra Content and Bonus).

As Steve has just said, you need all three, and above all the main program file, and you install them in the order Steve gives.
