MSP future and Video Studio 11 premier

Post by skyml »

Having been a devoted Ulead product user for over 10 years I can't help but feel what many on this forum reveal regarding the future of Media Studio Pro. With the advent of each product a company produces for the simplest customer (and principle financial market) there exists the power user that pushes beyond. I always saw Video Studio as a watered down gimmick for the entry level video enthusiast designed to educate and ultimately lure him (or her) into the better product, Media Studio Pro. Media Studio has been an amazing, powerful and easy to learn and use product for most of it's existence. And it is the existence of Media Studio Pro that kept people like me away from products live Avid and Adobe Premier or Final Cut Pro (my early choices of Mac verses PC). In the battle for the better program, I was able to sell many friends and co-workers on the advantages and ease of use of Media Studio Pro over their editor. Now I sit here and wonder - what is the future? I see Video Studio 11 hit the market just shortly after Video Studio 10 and within I see many improvements to this "entry level gimmick" that makes me wonder... is "Corel/Intervideo/Ulead" trying in part to provide Video Studio 11 as a peace offering/substitute to Media Studio Pro users?!? The company surely see's the necessity to provide Vista support to some products and even advertises to provide this support to all Major products to include Media Studio Pro (got this as an email from their tech support). Yet Video Studio goes trough 2 Vista compatible revisions and MSP 8 sits untouched. Corel/Intervideo/Ulead - listen up! Video Studio 11 looks promising for the entry level user - but does not in anyway replace the power we need in Media Studio Pro! MSP and DVDWS both need to survive and thus be upgraded and perhaps merged for the same reasons you put effort into Video Studio and DVD Movie Factory - the products and market you need to compete against are Avid, Adobe Premier, Sony Video Studio and Final Cut Pro - and Media Studio Pro is an amazing product fully capable of beating the competition if upgraded to the level aimed at by VS11 and DVDMF 6. Don't loose your MSP customers! How about Media Studio Pro 9 Plus (Vista Compatible)!?!
