Hi, iam using ulead vs 10+
I think that u often get this question, but i wanna know how i can get the best quality after rendering. i want to make a video of a computer game and my vid is about 9 mins long. the size is not so important after rendering (but not over 200mb).
i played with 1024x768 and captured with half size (dont no if thats important)
would be nice if u can tell me which settings i have to choose (@share-->create video)
Best quality :)

select mode MPEG-2 (NOT DVD) in tab 3 (compression)
In compression select quality 100%, bitrate constant 10000 Kb/s, audio if applicable as from Fraps.
then you can select much more option in tab 2 (General)
Choose the frame rate as for Fraps, between 24 and 60,
video size as for Fraps up to 1920*1080,
frame-based.
You can't get much better than that.
You could even increase the bitrate if you wish for large frame sizes, but the ouput size is in direct relation to this and the quality improvement is arguable.
If it's a game and the number of colors is restricted you can try variable bitrate and see if the win is significant in size.

This my understanding of it.
I have been proven wrong on several occasions in my life. It's not going to improve.

thank u for ur answer.
the quality with 10000 kb/s i good but the file got about 600 mb (max is 200 for me). i tested a bit and with 2000-3000 kb/s the size is ok but the quality is bad.
i have another video (not from me) of the same game, captured with fraps and halfsize too and the quality and size is really good. (13 minutes 110mb).
this video is an avi not mpg file and Gspot says its the 3iv2 codec (3ivx mpeg4 based) with 985 kbps. the problem is i dont know how i use this codec with ulead vs...

Do you have the 3avi2 codec installed? If so then in VS when you go to Share>Create Video File, select AVI as the file type. Then click on the Options, and go to the AVI tab. There should be a drop-down menu for Compression. Scroll through the Codecs to find your 3avi2 codec. Select it, make any other settings that you may want, and then Save. It should render your project using the 3avi2 codec.
