Great product so far. I tried version 10. Then went overseas to take some video and when I returned version 11 is available. So I dounloaded version 11 and now cannot capture. 10 worked fine but I didn't buy it due to my trip. Now I want to buy version 11 but it cannot capture.
The following error occurs when I try to capture from a Sony HC-3
Ulead VideoStudio window states "Unable to switch to capture mode check if your video capture driver is working properly."
When I plug in the camcorder, windows seems to recognize the device properly.
Any ideas?
Thank-you in advance.

Sorry, not any ideas so far. I have same camcorder and exactly the same problem. First I tried with x64 and thought it was a problem 64-bit windows and then tried with 32-bit, but same problem with that.

I've used my Sony HC3 to capture HDV video & DV video in VS11+.
I'm curious how many other ulead products you have installed on the computer.
Can you capture in VS10+ if it's still installed?
My installation of VS11+ is isolated and VS11+ doesn't see any other ulead products installed. It did take awhile for VS11+ to recognize the HC3. This was the first time capturing and I think the delay was because I also have other analog capture cards on the same computer.
Additional capturing sessions it does take some time for VS11+ to sync up and mount the HC3, then list it as a capturing device. During the capturing process unlike VS10+, VS11+ is full motion preview on my computer. Looks nice and not the jerky preview that VS10+ displays.
Another thing that VS11+ does is if the tape goes all the way to the end VS11+ will stop the capturing process (I like this feature), rather than recording a blank screen. This is nice so I can leave the capture process un-attended and come back later.
I'd like to point out that the computer is a P4 2.8Ghz which is actually below the spec's for HD. Capturing on the P4 2.8Ghz displays 70% cpu useage.
I think that most of this cpu usage is for previewing the video.
This is only a guess, I could capture in VS10+, then if I install MF5 VS10+ would not capture anymore. I thought they resolved these issues.
I wouldn't un-install VS10 then re-install VS11. This won't fix a conflict if ithere was a conflict with the other version of VS. You have to remove some directories before you re-install VS11+. Even if you uninstall VS10 it will leave the conflicting files behind, VS11+ will see them I think.
Your problems may not be the same as I had.

I've had the same problem as the first poster with the same camera. I have a T5500 processor with 2 GB of RAM and a 256 MB GeForce 7600 card running under Vista Ultimate. Vista recognized the camera immediately, and VideoStudio SEEMS to recognize the camera...it even shows up on the list of capturing devices, yet says that it can't sync the video. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
