I have a Sony Laptop VGN3R90E and it has a built in Blu Ray Disc player and I want to hook it up to my 1080p tv to use as a presentation monitor and to watch Blu Ray movies. I realize this may not be the best way to watch movies but it will suffice.
The problem I am having is that WinDVD Blu Ray is installed as the default Blu Ray disc reader but when I use it to watch my movies I get video output but no audio output through the HDMI connection. I tried to change the audio settings in the player/software but it will not let me choose HDMI it is set to S/PDIF and that whole section is grayed out.
The funny thing is that all other windows applications on my Vista machine works fine with audio and video. The sample videos play with sound and I can listen to mp3s on my home theater system using the HDMI connection. Is this a WinDVD issue or a windows?
