Load Video problem >>> VideoStudio shuts down

Post by lionheart2243 »

I just downloaded the trial version of Ulead Video Studio 11 from download.com. I plan to buy the program once I know how to use it, but I've run into a problem. I want to edit a video that is currently on my computer. To do this, I obviously need to put the video into the library. I click "Load Video", select the video from the browser, then press "Open". Right when I hit "Open", the whole program shuts down in an instant. If I open Video Studio again then try it again, the same thing happens.
So what's the problem and how can I fix it? Am I just not allowed to load my own videos in the trial version? I don't want to buy the full version until I know everything is going to work, so please help me out here.

You can help us help you by telling us something about the video which is causing this crash. What is its format? Where did it come from? How did you capture it? What editing was done to it?

The trial version is a full working version with limited content
In other words there are only a handful of ready made templates, also Dolby Digital will be unavailable.

You should be able to import your own videos.
The problem will no doubt be the particular video you are attempting to use which may be fault.

As Ken has pointed out, we need to know the source of your video and also how you got it onto your hard drive plus the format of that video.

The video that I am attempting to load is a .mov quicktime file. I took the video using my Kodac camera and uploaded it onto my computer using Kodac EasyShare software, which the camera came with. No editing has been done to it.
So does that help you any? Does VideoStudio have trouble with .mov files or something?

Update*
I just tried uploading a .mpeg file and it worked perfectly. So now, I'm assuming that if I change the format from a .mov to a .mpeg then it should work, but how do I go about that? Changing the format, I mean.
Thanks for the help.

Read the following post. Member Bsuthers posted a possible fix to this problem, however states that it is for the P880.
