VS11+ ; a bug maybe ?

I just bought VS11+. When i apply a filter to the clip (or a couple of filters) the sound disappears and the clip plays like in slow motion. I have to go to audioview and then back to storyboardview to get to the normal situation. Clips were converted from .avi to .mpg by VS10+. Can somebody help me ? Thanks

avi is a rather broad term like cheese.
There is cheddar, danish blue, processed, Red Leicester and perhaps hundreds more.
