Creating HD-DVDs with H264 video problem (MF6)

Post by dattrax »

After a lot of messing around I managed to make some HDDVDs which play in my standalone without DVD Moviefactory deciding to recompress!

Now onto my next project which is using h264.

I've created a transport stream with h264 and with AC3, but when I try import, the whole thing locks up (import dialog goes not responding)

Wont import native .h264 files and then let me add the audio, needs to be a multiplex.

h264 cant be multiplexed in a program stream (or at least thats what I remember) so I cant turn the transport stream into a .mpg

Has anyone succeeded at this?

If so, what was your work flow?

Cheers

What was your workflow so MF wouldn't re-compress?
I know of a program that can insert the H264 files directly and if you have the correct H264 codec installed MF6 can also do this.

At first I tried to insert elementry streams, but it would always recompress. I then tried a .mpg file, but no luck with that either.

I used a program called HDpatch to fix up the bitrate and frame sizes and this did the trick.

I'm just trying to repeat the experiment with h264 encoded material
