Unfortunately , it does not resolve my problems .

I do not take video files from my camera but from hard disc and there is no dialog box to switch off date and time code.

In that case it is not time date code but when it was captured from its source and placed onto a hard drive the time and date was embedded into the picture.

Depending upon where it is located you can either crop the picture so that it is now out of the equation, or hide it with an overlay or logo.

There is a filter for hiding things of this nature but to be honest the end result is more distracting than leaving it there anyway.

It did not happen with VS 10 with the same files .

VS 11 does it automatically !!! and there is no option in the program to remove it ?!

I too dislike the date and time appearing, even in the editing process... I noticed that in VS11, in File > Preferences > General, the box beside "Display DV Timecode in Preview Window" was ticked by default. I unticked it.

Have you checked there?

Unbelivable , I unticked but data and time info still were present in the pictures.

Where did the video file on your hard drive originate from and what format is it, eg DV, MPEG2, DivX etc.

I still suspect that the time/date has been embedded into the video rather than it being the time/date code but hopefully I may be wrong.

I have copied files from my Sony HandyCam DCR DVD-405 by means of Picture Package Software bought together with camera.

It is interesting that date and time are not visible in original pictures and even when I used Video Studio 10 .

Now I can not use VS 10 - Is it still available to download ?

Is not it really any options to switch off it in VS 11 ?

Thank you for your advices.

Try importing the video with VS11+ rather than with picture package.
I had a copy of Picture package with my camcorder and found it to be a piece of rubbish. I have since deleted it.

Dear Vidoman ,

Ken's advise is good for newly recording files and to copy them directly from camera by means of VS 11.

But I would like to use files earlier copied to my hard drive and in this case VS 11 does not allow me to switch the date and time info off.

If that's the case, then the Date/timecode seems to already have been burned into the video itself. Can you view the video in say WMP, and is the Date/Timecode visible? If so then it is burned in, and the only way to remove it is by covering up, with a logo or something. Otherwise you will need to re-capture it, using either VS11+ or something different then what you originally used to capture.

Date and time info is not visible in Windows Media Player and I can not re-capture already deleted files in rewritable DVDs used in my camera. I have them only on my hard drive.

The only program date and time are visible is VS11 even it was not visible in VS 10. For me it is disadvantage of the new version.
