Registration... Again

Hi everyone,
I think it was about a year ago that I bought a copy of VS9. I had received version 8 from a friend, and I figured that I would pay $50 instead of $100. So I bought the upgrade.

A couple of months ago, my computer crashed. I lost everything, data, files, music - and VS9. And guess what? I also lost the registration code for version 8. So now I'm stuck with a VS9 installation CD that I can only use with an older version already installed.

So my question is this: Will Ulead supply an activation code for me? Or will I have to buy an older version of VS (from eBay, etc.)

Did you register the VS8 version with Ulead? If so, just go to their website and log-in. Then on the left you will see several links, one being to view your registered products. Click on it, and it will show all the Ulead programs you have registered, along with the serial numbers . That's if your VS8 was not an activated TBYB (trial).

All you need is the serial number of the older version. Did you register it on the Ulead website when you installed it? If yes, you can easily retrieve the serial number from there.

I would not hold my breath in the hope Ulead will provide an activation code for your upgrade version. First of all, they do not handle online distribution themselves, elements5 do it for them and secondly, there is no record of your purchase for the qualifying version either because you obtained it from a friend.

Before I would go and buy another old version on ebay to enable me to run another old version (we are at VS 11 now), I would go and buy an upgrade to the latest version and use the VS 9 serial number to install that.

Thanks for the quick response! Unfortunately, I did not register version 8 (Actually, I just rifled through my CDs and found that it was version 7.) I guess I'll turn to eBay...

Just write to Ulead Customer service... and ask for VS9 Full version

If your current license key/activation code was lost or incorrect/not working, we'll be gladly to give you another activation code to activate your product.
