So, you're saying that Plextor got a version of Video Studio (it was version 7) Original ulead manufacturers disk and packaging, and somehow tweaked the software right on the software disk? Or are you saying they tweaked their hardware to somehow work with that version of Video Studio?

I also upgraded from 7 to 8 and still the plextor worked fine.

The real question is though, how is the consumer supposed to know what will and will not work with the software?

I don't see "Except for ......."
