Finding Serial Number

Post by attherange »

I searched the forum in vain to find this info. I purchased the download version of VideoStudio 11 and asks for a serial number to continue installation. I can't find any reference to a serial number in all of the emails E5 sent. I may be missing a number that's used for this purpose. Thanks in advance for your help.

I got two emails from them. The first was merely a receipt. However the second one was a rather long message. Part A contains all the links for downloading the three parts of the package. Part B, nearly halfway through the message, contains the licensing information, including the serial number.

And just as you would have been asked, if you bought the upgrade version, for the serial number of a previous version, on installing the upgrade of VS11, you are again asked for the older serial number as well as the one for VS11.

Thanks for the prompt reply. The only applicable numbers that I have are the E5 order number and the license key which consists of eighteen numbers and letters with two dashes. This is an original installation and not an upgrade wherein I would then use the old serial number as you stated. About the only other numbers in the message are dealing with file sizes and download times. I can't seem to get a response from E5 concerning this matter.
A sample of the text: "The license key for "Ulead VideoStudio 11 Plus (Full/Download)" is listed below. You will need this license key to complete the process and activate the product. The license key and the text below originate from the software publisher and may be written in another language".

Yes, and it's that 18 figure licence key which is the serial number which you have to insert when the installation starts. You are asked to insert your name, Occupation and the serial number which is the licence key you have received. Does that not work for you?

The format of the serial number is as follows
000A2-00000-00000000

Look for something resembling this in your email from Element 5.

I had been copying and pasting that number into the serial number box. Instead, this time, it was typed in and worked just fine. I sure want to thank ya'll for your' help. This may help others that might try using the copy, paste procedure.

Sometimes when you copy/paste it adds a space at the end.
To the Human this is unimportant, to a computer the space is another character just like a letter of the alphabet.
