3X DVDs (HD DVD on standard DVD)

Post by awp »

After struggling with Pinnacle Studio 10 on Windows Vista, I've decided to give VideoStudio 11 a try and was excited to read about the ability to burn HD DVD content on a standard DVD (guess it's called a 3x DVD) as I have the Xbox 360's HD-DVD add-on.

However, after downloading the trial and doing a simple slide show to test this ability out and had a few questions.

First I see no option under DVD to burn HD DVD content. So should I select an HD DVD 15 GB and then still just put in a regular DVD?

Also, I got an "unspecified error" when I tried this for the first tried this (not sure if it had anything to do with selecting HD DVD 15 GB, but not having an HD DVD burner). I accidentally closed the error window before seeing the code.

Anyone have suggestions?

If I can get this to work, I'll be purchasing VS 11 as I'm disgusted with Pinnacle Studio 11.

Well, tried again and got the same "unspecified error". The code was 5:0:0. Please help!

Same question here. I choose HD-DVD and try to burn on a DVD-RL. There are no error and i got the message all successfull.

That i try to show the DVD on a XBox360. It starts and i see the Background Image for the DVD Menu (but no menu) and than the Xbox360 crashes.

I dont find any other way to burn a HD DVD Format on DVD.

best regards

Well, I found at least a temporary solution to the problem for the 360. Burn the project without a menu. Playback was flawless.

Hope that I can get it to work with a menu in the future, however.
