I was wondering if anyone could help me...
I would like to know the differences (major ones) between Video Studio 11 Plus and Media Studio Pro 8.
Also is there any hint of an upgrade for Media Studio Pro? Because I notice it does not export HD DVD or Blu-Ray.
Has anyone had the need for the HD DVD Yet?

What Program do you recommend?
What program would be good to use for HD Products - cause i REALLY liked that first clip on *youtube* REALLY nice stuff...but - will the video studio do things like that or is it not as complicated? Also is there any hint of an upgrade for Media Studio Pro? VS could do something similar. I think it would take using workarounds to really replicate it in VS. I'm not sure how many tracks are used to create that sequence, but more then likely was more then 7.
Both MSP8 and VS11 can handle HD video, however VS is ahead of MSP when it comes to the latest, HD and BD. There is no support for Vista with MSP, where VS11 is fully Vista Compliant.

Two main differences for me are
1. Moving paths
2. Being able to use transitions on the overlay tracks.
You could however go on because the list of differences is quite large
Smart Compositor Designer
Nested time lines
Various third party plug ins that only work with MediaStudio and not VideoStudio
In Video Studio you have chroma key.
In MediaStudio you have
VideoStudio 10+/11+ has 7 Video Tracks and 3 Audio tracks (Original, Music, Voice)
MediaStudio has 99 video tracks and 99 audio tracks.
Believe it or not, this is only scratching the surface at the differences between the two products.

When You say they can handle HD - does that mean they can burn in HD or just work with them in HD?
Is there going to be any updates with this program at all (Vista, HD, Blu-Ray etc...)?
Is there another program with equal quality as this THAT is Vista Compatible AND burns in HD and Blu-Ray?

MORE QUESTIONS :) hahaha
Once I edit in Media Studio 8, can I import it into Video Studio 11? Because, my understanding is that MSD8 Is an editing ONLY program, NOT capable of producing DVD's.
Correct me if i am wrong, but what I understand is I edit my production in MSD8 and then Export it to perhaps VS11 'OR' Movie Factory to create my menu's etc...
- Which of the two programs would be better to use (or is there another)?
Thanks for all your help...I know I have a lot of questions

When you have completed editing with MediaStudio 8, you export your file in DVD compliant MPEG2 format. Choose appropriate bit rate settings to avoid further rendering by your chosen authoring program.
Suitable Authoring programs include
DVD MovieFactory
DVD VideoStudio
DVD Workshop 2.
For advanced DVD authoring choose DVD Workshop 2 but bear in mind it is now a bit old and has limitations in respect of format - 4.3 only
Dolby 5.1 and a few other matters
The DVD authoring modules of MovieFactory and Video Studio are very similar but if you have both products then MovieFactory has a slight edge over VideoStudio in this respect.
