Small changes without re-rendering and saving Menus

Post by Condemor »

Hi everyone

Just two questions:

- If I render my project, create a video file and then find a small mistake, is there a way of not having to start from scratch and render the whole thing again to save some time?

- After selecting the chapters/menus, can I save them on the video file or they have to be created every time you go to Create Disc?

Any versions of VideoStudio supporting this?

Many thanks in advance.

EDIT: Forgot to ask one last question. I am using v9 and I keep copies of all my projects (2 so far :D ) organised in separate folders and libraries. If I upgrade to v10 or v11, will I be able to open my projects and import the library structure? (video, image, sound, they all have sub-libraries, one for each project)

Similar advice needed

Having no luck burning directly from project to DVD, I have followed advice to create a video file first in MPEG format, then open a new project, insert MPEG, create menus, etc and then burn. Since I only want my finished burn to be of highest quality I was still confused by a few things. When I create video file, I am not sure WHICH MPEG format to use. There is MPEG 2, NTSC DVD, MPEG 1. I believe the bitrate should be 8000. I just want to render the file to the best format so that when I insert the finished file, I will have a quality burn for that DVD viewing on a Plasma 720p/1080i set. Second issue, what would possibly trigger a dreaded 'rerender' after inserting the video file MPEG into the burn phase? If you make any edits in the MPEG video file that you inserted after creation, would that cause a rerender even with Compliant box ticked? How about an overlay, title or audio in one of the overlay or music voice tracks? THANKS!

After you have created your chapters close the burn module, bringing you back to the editor. Now re-save your project. Your menu/chapters should then be saved to your project.

Over the past 4 days you have asked the same question, even high-jacking this thread. Your questions have been answered numerous times and you've been given links to the suggested workflow and tutorials.

So we'll try again... You don't say where you are, but since you reference NTCS DVD I'll take a stab that that is what format you will be using. Yes, if you will be making a DVD to be used in an NTSC country, use the NTSC DVD template.

DO NOT make any edits to your rendered MPEG. Make the edits to your VSP file, then re-render to another MPEG. Since your source files are AVIs there will be no loss in quality. Re-rendering the MPEG will surely cause some loss.
