My husbands family over here in Germany sent me Impact12 as a gift. While I thank them every chance I get, I can't read Germany and all of the buttons and so on are in German, is there anyway to change it to english?

I fear you are out of luck. PI is marketed in different language versions but, AFAIK, you cannot change the core language. Certain patches even apply only to certain language versions.
