Hi, I have DMF3 Standard Edition, running on XPSP2. I have downloaded all the latest updates and installed them.
When trying to burn a project to disc of size 4.32GB, I keep getting told that there is not enough room on the disc. I the reduce the project size to 4.11GB and am still told that there is still not enough room on the disc.
After reading comments about the incorrect estimation of project size, I decided to follow one members suggestion of making a disc image. This I did. When I try to burn this image to disc, I get a disc write protected message. I am using a DVD+RW. If I try to erase the disc the I get the same message that the disc is write protected. If I try to erase the disc using Sonic or Roxio ECD Creator then it is erased. Trying the disc with DMF3 again causes the dic write protected message to pop up again.
Anyone any ideas?
Thanks
Peter

Roxio ECD Creator will install some UDF driver which might conflict with Ulead products. I would suggest to remove it to see if the problem is solved.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for replying.
I have removed ECD Creator from the computer and tried again to erase the disc and to write the disc image to the disc. I both cases I get the disc is write protected message.
For curiosity, I tried another small project and I imported the project, created a menu and burnt it to the disc that was giving all the write protected problems. I then tried to erase this disc. The write protected message appeared again.
I have tried uninstall and reinstall, but still the same message and now I occassionally get a my documents window opening on the insertion of a disc. It looks as though DMF3 has corrupted the system.
Any one out there got any ideas?
Is DMF4 worth taking the plunge for?
Thanks
Peter

What's the burner model you use?
I believe you have applied the engine/general updates from http://www.ulead.com/tech/dmf/dmf.htm ?
This might be a compatibility problem between your burner and DVDMF. If it does not work after you update the engine updates, you will need to contact Ulead Tech Support.
Hope this helps.

Ulead tech support reply!!!
Said I would let you know what they suggested....
They suggested
:that I download all the updates and patches
:that I try different media
No real explanation of what the problem could be.
I am none the wiser.
Maybe try another product eg Roxio, Adobe
Thanks

Hi,
Sometimes I have to perform a total "Erasure" of the dvd.
This makes the dvd the same as new.
Erasing like ulead is doing(quick erase) only changes the FAT on
the dvd which always doesn't work.
You can also try a brand new DVD+RW in the drive.
Do NOT put the DVD+RW into the drive until right before the
burning stage (Menu creation stage).
If you put the dvd into the drive before starting MF then another
software program will take control of the drive and lock access to it.
