I have been using VS10+ since last fall.
I have a simple process. Put tape in my Sony DSR-11 Tape Deck.
Capture via fire wire.
Edit
Output.
Up until this point, the tapes were all shot on Sony miniDV cameras.
I now have a miniDV tape that was shot on a new panasonic miniDV camera. (DV PANASONIC AG-DVC20 3XCCD 2.5" RT )
No audio via firewire comes into the captured video (although it does play out of the analog audio outputs on the tape deck) except for an extremely faint left channel signal (lost in noise when speakers are turned all the way up).
Also, The video gets squeezed down into a 1080i format. The video was not shot in 1080i, but was recorded in some kind of feaux HD size.
Anybody have a clue as to why the tapes from this camera might be unusable by video studio 10 + in terms of the audio and the vertical video squeeze???
When I bring the video in analog (from the ATI all in wonder either via video connectors or the built in tuner, the aspect ratio seems to be correct, BUT, the video is letterboxed to 1080i, covering the top and bottom of the video coming in.
How do I make the video confrom to the correct aspect ratio and cropping and any ideas on why the audio from the Panasonic camera won't come in via firewire?
Thanks .... before I pull the rest of my hair out!
PS ... as a side note, I also captured the video using DVD Workshop 2. As the video is recorded, the aspect ratio is fine. However when I preview play the video in DVDWS2, the vertical squeeze down happens. No audio is captured in DVDWS2.
Capture via Firewire - No Audio, video vertically squeezed

Don't have it
I don't have the camera. What I stated is my normal work flow. It is just tapes from this camera that are giving the audio problems.
The aspect ratio/letterbox squeezing, etc even happens from line in analog and has nothing necessarily to do with the tape deck.
Thanks anyway.
