Hi all,
I have just purchased VideoStudio 9 SE DVD and registered it and I would like to know what limitations it has compared to the full version.
----------------------------
I have been using Windows MovieMaker to capture and save WMV files and it does it very quickly compared to VideoStudio 9 SE DVD.
Would someone please suggest a good WMV profile for capturing and saving from an analogue source.
The one I've created is as follows:
Bitrate 512K
Sound Windows Media Audio 9.2
Video Windows Media Video 9
Pal - 25 fps
Audio - CBR - 48 kbps bitrate, 44 kHz sample rate, stereo
Video 320x240, CBR, 448 kbps bitrate
Keyframe interval - 6 seconds
I live in New Zealand so my FPS is 25.
Many thanks in advance.
VideoStudio 9 SE DVD.

...And you say you BOUGHT it???
SE editions are all given away free, so someone has made a 100% profit!!
As for WMV, I don't use it so cannot help there. But I will note that I am not surprised that WMM handles it quickly. It was after all developed by Microsoft, who also make WMM, as 'their' format. And I have to add that even VS10 does not handle it particularly well. Don't know how the imminent VS11 will do.

As Ken said, if you "bought" an SE version, you have been had. To add insult to injury, VS 9, even the full version, was bothersome to many and not very stable. Yours is a watered down version which came bundled with some hardware and may have been tweaked to work with that. I doubt that it had full WMV support.
Be all that as it may, your version will at least allow you to buy an upgrade to a later full version at the reduced upgrade price. I would do all my editing in VS and use the WIN MovieMaker program to render the file to WMV.

Thank you very much for your replies and your advice.
A bit disappointing to hear I've been "done" but it could have been worse than the $44.00 I paid. ( The same seller has about four more for sale on TradeMe). However, as was mentioned, I can upgrade to a later version at a reduced rate.
