MovieFactory v4 Can't Reinstall?

Post by jknj »

Hello!
I had Ulead MovieFactory v4 se(came with hauppauge pvr card) and it worked fine. I went to ulead website and downloaded the update patch and now it won't work. I removed mf in add/remove programs and also followed the removal instructions on the website(folders and registry). But, when I reinstall mf and try to use it I get an error message that says "Program Files\Common Files\Ulead Systems\DVD\uDVDBurnMgr is not registered!" . I did register mf, and even re-registered when I reinstalled it, but no matter how many times I remove and reinstall mf I get this error message. I did everything the "Clean reinstallation-SE or OEM" instructions say but I think there is something left on the computer that I can't remove, that is stopping mf from working every time I reinstall it. Any help would be very appreciated! I do not want to wipe the hd clean and reinstall windows xp pro, everything else works good.

Try
Run c:\regsvr32.exe c:\Program Files\Common Files\Ulead Systems\DVD\uDVDBurnMgr.xxx

Replace xxx with whatever the extension is in windows Explorer eg dll (I am not at my video editing machine at present so unable to check for you)

Hi sjj1805,
I typed the command you told me, but it won't work, it gives the error "load library "C:\Program" failed the specified module could not be found. I typed in the Start, Run box, exactly what you said, I even tried it with the \ switched to /, but it still gives the same message? I used .dll at the end.

Copy and paste this Exactly and it should work provided your Operating system is on drive C:
After it runs you should get a success box that pops up saying registered.
In the Run box (of course)
regsvr32.exe "c:\Program Files\Common Files\Ulead Systems\DVD\uDVDBurnMgr.dll"
